Yes. Mud Pie is specifically formulated to remove chlorine. It contains sodium thiosulfate, a reducing agent that directly reacts with and neutralizes chlorine that has bonded to the hair’s protein structure from pool water. Use Mud Pie within 24 hours of swimming, leave on for 7–10 minutes, rinse thoroughly, and follow with Chai Latte Hair Cleanser and Banana Cream Deep Conditioner to restore moisture.
3–5 minutes for regular maintenance clarifying or mild product buildup. 7–10 minutes for heavy silicone buildup, hard water mineral deposits, pre-protein treatment, or chlorine removal after swimming.
For low-porosity hair, we recommend a monthly treatment. For high-porosity, it can be used every 2 – 3 months, depending on build up on the scalp and in the hair.

Mud Pie’s bentonite clay cleanses and removes this surface buildup, genuinely opens the cuticle, and restores the hair’s ability to absorb moisture and treatments.
No mixing is required. Apply Mud Pie directly to wet hair in a hot, steamy shower — the steam softens the clay and makes it easier to distribute. Apply a small amount to wet hair, massage into scalp, and work through ends. Leave on for a few minutes before rinsingthoroughly.Keep hair wet during the treatment time (3–10 minutes) to prevent the clay from hardening.

I got this in my routine I got after taking the quiz. And it did not work for my hair. It seemed to really strip my hair and left it dry and frizzy. I have very long wavy hair that is low porosity and stuggle with finding hair products that do a good job. This might be good for some hair types but not mine.

I really didn’t know what to expect with a clarifying treatment because why use it when you can just shampoo and go about my business. But my goodness I am glad I gave it a try! My hair has never felt so clean, however it didn’t leave you feeling squeaky clean like you lost moisture, because my hair was still super soft where I could run my detangle brush through it no problem! They do warn you it does have a smell😂 but nothing gag worthy in my opinion. It is a clay texture so doing it the shower with steam makes a big difference in brushing it through you hair for easy distribution! I used it along with the match boost protein and am in love with the results!

My hair journey has been an intense one. I have extremely unique hair for my ethnicity because my Irish/Scottish heritage. I have very fine hair rather than course, but my hair is extremely curly. It is medium porosity, and requires a lot of heavy moisture, but will get weighed down and greasy quickly affecting my hurl pattern. I have tried everything! Some products I was happier than others, but the last 5 years after I lost so much hair I had to chop it off to chin length, I decided to move into all handmade products. This left my hair healthier, but also harder to style and manage. It wasn’t until Ecoslay that I found the most incredible results I have ever experiences. I wash once a week, and the products keep my hair well enough between wash days. I hardly experience any hair loss when detangling, and as far as I can tell, I am experiencing little to no breakage. My curl pattern is on fire, and my frizz issues and any dry areas have seemingly disappeared. My hair is growing and maintaining length like I haven’t ever experienced even when my hair was at its longest. I cannot thank you enough Ecoslay!
